Essential Oil Cheat Sheet



Medicinal properties: Antiseptic, astringent, diuretic, expectorant, fungicide, mucolytic, sedative for nerves, circulatory stimulant. 

Used for treating: arthritis, bronchitis, congestion, cough, dandruff, eczema, fungal infections, hair loss, anxiety, stress, insect repellent. 

Blends well with: bergamot, clary sage, cypress, lavender, neroli, cinnamon leaf 


•Cinnamon Leaf: 

Medicinal properties: kills airborne cold and flu germs, boosts immune system and your body’s ability to fight infection, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antispasmodic. 

Used for treating: circulation, colds and flu, indigestion, lice, menstrual pain, muscle pain, rheumatism, warts, kill germs. 

Blends well with: citrus oil, clove, fir needle, frankincense, and ginger. 



Medicinal properties: antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiviral, digestion, kills parasites, fungicide, immuno-stimulant, pain reliever. 

Used for treating: circulation, kills free radicals, relieves oxidative stress, oral pain, candida, yeast infections, mold, cough, asthma. 

Blends well with: cinnamon leaf, ginger, orange. 



Medicinal properties: anti inflammatory, antiseptic, antibacterial, antitussive, bactericidal, fungicide. 

Used for treating: relieves cough/respiratory infections, relieves pain, improves seasonal allergies, fights infections, wound care, improve earache.

Blends well with: lavender, lemongrass, pine, spearmint, thyme, rosemary, cedarwood.

 *do not use topically on infants or young children

Used for treating: acne, asthma, bronchitis, cold and flu, scars, anxiety, stress, tension, wounds, and wrinkles. 

Blends well with: Cinnamon, citrus oils, cypress, lavender, pine



Medical properties: analgesic, anticonvulsive, antidepressant, anti fungal, anti inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, carminative, sedative.

Used for treating: burns, cough, cold, dermatitis, eczema, flu, headache, muscle pain, stress, tension, anxiety, wounds, insect stings, fevers. 

Blends well with: cedarwood, chamomile, citrus oils, coriander, fur needle, marjoram 



Medicinal properties: antimicrobial, antispasmodic, antiseptic, astringent, bactericidal, carminative, febrifuge, insecticide.

Used for treating: acne, asthma, cellulitis, circulation, colds, fevers, flu, scars, varicose veins, warts.

Blends well with: cedarwood, other citrus oils, fur needle, frankincense, lavender, neroli. 

*avoid sunlight for 12 hrs if used on large area of potential sun exposed skin. As lemon is phototoxic and can cause sun burn. 


•Lemon Eucalyptus: 

Medicinal properties: anti inflammatory, insecticide, pain reliever, deodorizer, increases circulation, immune system stimulant, energy booster, decongestant. 

Used for treating: boost metabolism and circulation, respiratory health, reduces inflammation, repels insects, prevents and heals insect bites, digestion , room deodorizer, boosts immune system. 

Blends well with: rosemary, thyme, lavender, tea tree, cedarwood.



Medicinal properties: antibacterial, anti inflammatory, febrifuge, digestion, astringent. 

Used for treating: nausea, fevers, improve immune system function, muscle pain/soreness, headache/migraine, IBS, nausea, acne. 

Blends well with: cedarwood, lemon, lime, pine, lavender, bergamot, rosemary, spearmint. 


•Rose Geranium:

Medicinal Properties: antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antidepressant, anti inflammatory, astringent. 

Used for treating: acne, bruising, hemorrhoids, eczema, lice, ringworm. Pre-menstrual and menopause issues, nausea, tonsillitis, circulation. 

Blends well with: Basil, bergamot, cedarwood, clary sage, grapefruit, lavender,  lime, orange, and rosemary. 



Medicinal properties: antidepressant, antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, expectorant, fungicide, insecticide, sedative.

Used for treating: acne, bronchitis, colds, cough, depression, flu, insomnia, nausea, muscle pain.

Blends well with: cedarwood, chamomile,  citrus oils, frankincense, lavender, patchouli


•Sweet orange: 

Medicinal properties: antibacterial, antidepressant, anti inflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic, bactericidal, carminative, digestive, expectorant, fungicide, sedative.

Used for treating: acne, anxiety, cellulite, colds, congestion, cough, flu, insomnia, muscle spasms, nausea, stress. 

Blends well with: cedarwood, chamomile, cinnamon leaf, citrus oils, coriander, frankincense, ginger, lavender. 

*phototoxic avoid sunlight for 12 hrs if used on large areas of skin.


•Tea Tree:

Medicinal properties: anti-infectious, anti inflammatory, antiseptic, antiviral, bactericidal, expectorant, fungicide, immuno-stimulant.

Used for treating: acne, asthma, athletes foot, bronchitis, burns, chicken pox, colds, cold sores, congestion, cough, ear infection, fever, flu, lice, thrush, wounds 

Blends well with: cedarwood, chamomile, citrus oils, lavender, marjoram.
